My ever faithful Olympus Mju II

I love carrying my Olympus Mju II camera around for its lightweight and reliability. And I love Lomography's now extinct X-pro Chrome 100 film. I still have a few rolls left with me :) I am one happy ahjumma !

Here is my most recent roll from various locations.

Cute wall art from Mugshot Cafe in Penang. I love the hanging red cloth. It's so much like Chinese horror movies.

Random sign near my in-laws place in Penang.

Empire Damansara during Chinese New Year break. They have replaced the brollies with red chinese lanterns.

Minus the lantern, this place looks like Europe.

The infamous DPAC or Damansara Performing Arts Centre.

One of the many steel staircase in Empire Damansara.

It says Heritage Lane. But it's in Empire Damansara. The arch is near Texas Chicken.

And a shot of Bangkok of  course.

Malacca with my Canon AE-1

Most of our short trips are impromptu, including this one. We've decided to check out the new boutique hotel Quayside Hotel by the Melaka River. We paid more than our usual hotel stay in Malacca for the sake of a balcony and the river view and the beautiful Casa del Rio.

I've missed the opportunity to snap some photos of popular landmarks in Malacca on my previous trip. (psst... actually I did load the film properly coz it's a new camera) And so, I insists on doing a photowalk around A Famosa (St Paul's Hill).

All photos below are taken with Canon AE-1 SLR with Efiniti UXi 200. This is my one and only roll of this film. I bought it through recommendation from Ms Gladys of Photocrafts, Kota Damansara. I like the resullts but have to be very careful with the weather. I guess it works better on a cloudy weather. Some of my photos look over exposed. I noticed that in darker lighting condition, the details are more defined and prominent.

This was taken at the foot of St Paul's Hill. Opposite of the Museum of Islam.

Part of the park with models of old transportation.

A pregnant looking tree spotted nearby.

A resting cat awaits its mate. Halfway downhill from St Paul's Hill.

I wish that I have a zoom lens.

A little bit of old and new.

Not too defined reversed bokeh.

This photo looked burnt and dreamlike. I guess it would work better with a Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 film.

Praying hard that my friend can manage to get me 6 rolls from Singapore soon. Heard that it's a bargain there. I would really like to try more of this film in darker lighting condition and hopefully the results come out better.

This roll of film is also my fastest to finish and developed. This fun fact was pointed out by my husband. Who had to tagged along with me, climbed up the hill under the hot sun and wait until I'm done. Then drive me to the lab to get this developed. He fell asleep a couple of time and try to stay awake by playing Candy Crush.

*I really need to buy a wide angle lens soon
*The current 50mm lens is driving me nuts
*Limited space, I need bigger and wider space

Introducing La Sardina The Guvnor

Hey y'all! There's a new family member to my camera collection and I'm excited to share it. It's Lomography's La Sardina The Guvnor. A gift from Mr Hubs :) I've always wanted a La Sardina for it's cute little sardine can size and quirky design. The Guvnor is a special edition made in conjunction with the London Olympics and the home of the biggest Lomography and Lomographers.

Look no further but feast your eyes on this beautiful camera.

La Sardina The Guvnor in its box. Love the vibrant blue and street names printed on it. I HDR-ed the photo coz it's one of my favourite photography filters.

It is indeed the Ultimate Analogue Deep-Sea Gem. Sardine = Fish that swims underwater , Geddit ? Lame...haha

Unboxed. It comes with Fritz the Blitz flash that requires CR123 battery. It's about RM12-15 each. You can find it at any Ace Hardware store in Malaysia. It comes with 4 color filters which fits perfectly with the flash.

A close-up view of the body of the camera. Don't you just love it?

It comes with a manual and waranty and stuff. Beautifully packed.

The outer part of the manual. Sardine cans over the years, all over the world. Go grab yourself a sardine sandwich now will ya?

Can't wait to play with this :)

Diana Mini Lomography Camera

My group of friends bought me a Lomography Camera ; Diana Mini to be exact. It is a cute little thing and light to hold. It's made of plastic after all. And I love it! Because I don't have to startup the thing, just load 35mm film and snap away. People who know me knows that I love to snap pictures but I'm damn slow. Hence, moments are usually lost when I'm ready to snap. Except for when I'm using my good friend's DSLR, that is cool but I can't afford to get one for myself yet.

Pretty busy and occupied now with old school film photography. I am very fascinated with the toy camera and am glad to be able to snap with films again. There's a lot of learn with loads of trial and errors. And this proved to be an expensive hobby.

Before I start, I watched numerous youtube Diana Mini tutorials on the dos and don'ts and general use. What I like about it is that it's not digital and you really have to learn to be patient and wait for the results from the photo lab when the roll is being developed.

Say hello to Buttercup!

Diana Mini in its package

Diana Mini with its booklet, Buttercup (you have to buy this separately), color gels and hot shoe should you need to use the flash on another camera.

My first roll of film is being developed by the photolab. Let's just hope that the photos turn out alright. I don't want overexposure. Fingers crossed!
