THIRST 2012

Thirst 2012 is an annual electronic music festival organised by Future Sound Asia and Heineken Malaysia. The drawing factor this year is Avicii coz I'm a big fan of his song Silhouette. I was at Thirst 2011 because Tiesto was spinning. When will it be Armin Van Buuren or ATB ? I know ATB is old but he's still very good.

Met some of my crazy colleagues at Thirst 2012 in Sepang. Had a blast and some beer. Yes, I had beer. Those who know me knows that I don't drink. I have to drink a lil at a rave party or I'll be too sober and can't enjoy the music. I can't dance, the most I could do is jump like a crazy woman. I did and regret it coz my muscle hurts now. Too old to go to a rave party.

We (me, Mr Hubs and my son Mr JL) arrived at Sepang Paddock around 10-ish - 11pm. Parked the car and walk over to the shuttle van area. Thank God that we did not have to walk all the way in. (Lazy MF!) First thing that came to view is the back stage of the Main Stage. Above & Beyond is already halfway through their set.

The party go-ers mesmerized by Above & Beyond. Dandelion in the background.  The smart ass (me) forgot to bring my camera. So all the photos are taken with my lousy iPhone 3Gs. Human photos are taken with Mr Hubs' iPhone 4s.

VIP area - good service by the Heineken girls and cleaners. They clear the tables constantly and sweep the floors off rubbish and cigarette butts.

A closer view of WISH the 50 ft LED dandelion. Not very clear.

Me and Mr Hubs. Happy and merry. The old farts at a rave party :)

Me and Mr JL (my son)

Mr JL (fashion extraordinaire)  also, Mr AL (dai lou), Ms TM (DCL and designer), Mr IL (swag), Mr JL (my son) and me.

Ms TM, Mr AL (in shades), Mr JL and me.

Super dancers aka Party People. No gangnam style tonight folks! Mr AL, Ms TM and Ms SL.

Ms TM dancing on a platform to Above & Beyond. Fluid movement.

Mr AL aka Prince Hello Kitty. Praying to Avicii's music. Is that bright light a halo ? I think not!

Me as a drunk Hello Kitty.

Last but not least, a confirm drunk man lying on the floor outside the portable loo. Passerby just buat tak tahu. His friends must be arseholes to have left him there. Haha...

Avicii is the last DJ on the main stage. And it finishes sharp at 2am. He did layan us with an extra one song and that's it. There was fireworks display a couple of time throughout the night. The longest and biggest one was while Avicii spins the last song. As I've forgotten to bring my camera, I did not snap any photo of the firework. What a waste!

A fight between 2 Chinese guys while we were exiting the event. Apparently they were fighting over a girl *yawn*. It's super Ah Beng of them to do that and the girl is not even pretty. But I guess the saying, "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder" is true or they were having "beer goggles". Everything/Everyone look so much better when you're drunk.

Nitey nite or should I say Good Morning ?

Wonderbox Malaysia

Beauty box is proving to be the latest trend in Malaysia now. I am blessed to receive it as a gift from my bff. It started with Fabulous Finds for my birthday back in August but they have cease its operation due to illness of the owner. I am really sad because I love it. You may read about it here.

However, my bff made it better by subscribing another beauty box service for me. It's a continuation of my birthday/christmas gift. Thank you so much, Ms AY.

And so, I got my first Wonderbox (November 2012 edition) sometime ago. But I did not have time to blog about this. Hope that it's not too late.

I receive it by courier.

Surprised to find it bubble wrapped. I love to bubble wraps.

Ta-dah! The beautiful packaging.

Great fun at JPO and Legoland, Johor

I was away for almost a week for a break. It was hard for me to get a stable and FREE wifi while I was away hence there was no update. Last Friday was the beginning of my annual leave and I went away to Johor with my parents, sister and husband. Dad drove all the way while the rest of us slept like pigs. (Useless kids) Mom played games on the tablet while accompanying dad.

First stop in Johor was JPO - Johor Premium Outlet. A place that sells branded items below retail price. It's similar to the one I went to in Osaka, Japan. Mr Hubs bought me a GAP fedora hat at RM40. A steal I guess coz I don't know the retail price. I did not find anything of my fancy because the discount offered was not much. I kinda like a bag from COACH - reversible men bag but after discount it's around RM500 plus and I don't think I'll be using much of it except during travel. So no-no.  My sister bought an ADIDAS cap for RM39.90 and it looks good on her and a LACOSTE top. Dad bought a shirt from GAP. Mr Hubs and mom did not buy anything.

After spending half a day there, we left to go to my relative's place. Free accomodation y'all. Haha.. Dinner and stuff and some chit chat. We slept earlier than usual, close to midnight because we have somewhere to go the next day - LEGOLAND!!!

I was the last to wake up (as usual) and got ready. Had a quick breakfast at TEA GARDEN and this time around with my cousin and her son. Left for Legoland around 9-ish close to 10 and lined up to get in. It was a delight because I grew up playing Lego bricks. It's like watching my childhood toy come to life. We took the express train first coz there was no queue at all. It took us around the MINILAND. Where famous landmarks around the world is built with Lego but in miniature size.

We went our separate ways to explore the rest of the theme park. Had a go at a few rides that is suitable for adults coz most of the rides are build for kids. One harmless looking ride is actualy pretty scary for us except for Mr Hubs and I hate those random cameras on these rides. I normally look like shit screaming my head off. Needless to say, we did not buy those photos.

Dad later joined us for another rollercoaster ride that looks scary but it's not so bad. My mom commented that he's almost 60 and it's his first attempt on a rollercoaster. He bought that photo and we don't look so bad in that. Haha.

It was a tiring day for us all coz we walked almost the whole day and our skin is tanned like crazy. It will take me months to go back to my original skin colour. The sun was crazy hot and there's lack of shady area to rest. We slept like babies that night and ready to continue our next stop to Singapore the following day minus my parents. They are driving back to PJ the following Monday.

Beauty Box by Fabulous Finds

There are so many interesting things in life that I don't know about especially beauty products. I'm either ignorant or plain lazy. But I think I'm leaning more towards the latter. There are no ugly women in the world, just lazy ones - a quote by Coco Chanel.

Beauty box by Fabulous Finds was introduced to me by my bff Ms AY. She is an online scavenger and she said that she had too much time on hand. She is partially a "tai tai" now who owns a mischievious and naughty guinea pig.

She got me the beauty box subscription as a gift for my birthday back in August and so far I've received my 2nd box of surprise. To be honest, this is kinda exciting not knowing what you're gonna get the following month. This is a highly suitable gift for yourself and a girlfriend. You get to reward yourself with beauty products that you would not normally purchase.

What type of people should consider subscribing to a beauty box service :
- you're not sure whether a certain brand of beauty products suits your skin type
- you don't want to buy full size products in case you hated it
- too busy to scoure for new products but open to try new things
- you love beauty products (period!)
- you get bored easily but love surprises
- you love luxury beauty products but not willing to part with your hard earned moolah

What if I don't like the products that was sent to me ?
- give it away to someone who wants it
- swap the product with someone in exchange for a product that you want (bff's idea and it's brilliant!)
- use it on your pet (just kidding!)

Here are the photos of 2 of my beauty box :

My August beauty box.

My September beauty box.

So far I love it. And I love sample size products coz it's fantastic for travelling. Lightweight, compact and I can bring more variety. I am not paid by them to write about this. I just thought that this would be something great to share with all the ladies who love the same thing as I do and an idea for the guys who are scratching their head wondering what to buy for their lady love.

http://www.fabulousfinds.com.my is the website that my bff ordered for me and herself. There are many others offering the same service. But I love Fabulous Finds packaging and it's in pink!

Diana Mini Lomography Camera

My group of friends bought me a Lomography Camera ; Diana Mini to be exact. It is a cute little thing and light to hold. It's made of plastic after all. And I love it! Because I don't have to startup the thing, just load 35mm film and snap away. People who know me knows that I love to snap pictures but I'm damn slow. Hence, moments are usually lost when I'm ready to snap. Except for when I'm using my good friend's DSLR, that is cool but I can't afford to get one for myself yet.

Pretty busy and occupied now with old school film photography. I am very fascinated with the toy camera and am glad to be able to snap with films again. There's a lot of learn with loads of trial and errors. And this proved to be an expensive hobby.

Before I start, I watched numerous youtube Diana Mini tutorials on the dos and don'ts and general use. What I like about it is that it's not digital and you really have to learn to be patient and wait for the results from the photo lab when the roll is being developed.

Say hello to Buttercup!

Diana Mini in its package

Diana Mini with its booklet, Buttercup (you have to buy this separately), color gels and hot shoe should you need to use the flash on another camera.

My first roll of film is being developed by the photolab. Let's just hope that the photos turn out alright. I don't want overexposure. Fingers crossed!
